2020

The artist HOPE participates in the #OccupyAtopos programme. A program of ATOPOS cvc, in which artists set up their personal studio and their work for a period of time in one of the organisation’s spaces on 72 Salaminos street.

Hope will install his workshop and his ceramics at ATOPOS cvc from 30th September until 6th November.

The aim of the artist will not be so much the creation of new works but the disengaging of himself from the process of doing so. And for the spectators, to discover themselves while wandering amongst the objects and witnessing the making of a new ceramic piece.
There will be a dialectic logic in both the exhibited ceramic works and the ones constructed in real time.
The artist refuses the tyranny of seriousness and explores shadows of modernity.

During the residency there will be live performances with the artist himself and the musician Kostas Theodorakos.

Hope’s universe is made of sacred symbols of yesterday and today, past and present speak in dissonance, creating new systems of ideals, challenging the rules of symmetry and perfection and creating a unique reading of what we assume to be already established. His practice ranges from posters and collage to performance art, canvas works to fanzines and ceramics.
