In the context of the #OccupyAtopos #AlexisFidetzis #RevoltingBodies / Exhibition I, ATOPOS invites the artist Konstantinos Kotsis to present the  installation ABROSEXUAL.

With ABROSEXUAL, Tte artist introduces us to the collection of Themis Ragias.
Ragias’ cabinet of curiosities consists of small decorative objects featuring symbols, emblems and ensigns. These ‘objets d’art’ are inspired by folkloric art, even though they are mostly mass produced for the tourist market. His collection is a compilation of notations and symbolic meanings associated with the dominant, national narrative of Greece, from the interwar onwards. Therefore the term Abrosexual refers to the collection as an assemblage of charming, elegant objects, dressed with a fluid and changing meaning.
The artist has curated Ragias’ collection, in the context of #RevoltingBodies / Exhibition I, as a formation of the mutual fascination, both of them, for the declining trajectory of symbols. Following his constructive practice, the artist has designed a structure specifically for ATOPOS cvc’s space. The construction facilitates the configuration of the objects. The installation in its entirety suggests the embodiment of the dialogue between the artist and the collector.
