ATOPOS cvc is pleased to announce the cooperation with Sterna Art Project as of this summer programme. In this context, the cooperation between the two organizations this year consists of the participation of artist Andrey Bogush that will be in residency from May 24 to June 6. Sterna is an interdisciplinary non-profit organization whose purpose is to foster and nurture the creative expression of artists while challenging perceptions of what constitutes contemporary visual culture. It was established in 2014 by artist Greg Haji Joannides.

Vassilis Zidianakis, Artistic Director of ATOPOS cvc, will be the curator of Andrey Bogush’s work that will be created during the residency. Andrey Bogush is one of the artists that participate in the UNLOCKED publication by ATOPOS cvc and the outcome of his residency in Sterna Art Project is going to be presented in Atopos premises in Athens in autumn 2016.

About the artist

Andrey Bogush, born in 1987 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, lives in Helsinki, Finland. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Saint Petersburg State University (2011), and currently studies at Time and Space Arts program at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts. His recent solo shows include When Everything Is Over So We Can Discuss at Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki (2016) and Proposals at Osnova Gallery, Moscow (2015). His works have been shown at BId Project gallery, Milan (2016), TATE, London (2015), Christophe Guye Galerie, Zurich (2015), Unseen Photo Fair, Amsterdam (2014), l’Atelier Néerlandais, Paris (2014), East Wing Gallery, Dubai (2014), Kuvatila, Helsinki (2014), Pixelache festival, Helsinki (2013), LVL3, Chicago (2012), Festival International de Photographie d’Hyères, France (2011), Chelsea Art Museum, New-York (2011), Manezh Central Exhibition Hall, Saint Petersburg, Russia (2008), and internationally. Recently, his works were included in the Photography is Magic book published by Aperture and Unlocked by Atopos, Greece. Bogush has contributed to Midsummer’s Night opera production, Helsinki (2013) and performance at Einar Jonsson Museum, Reykjavik (2015). In 2015, Bogush was commissioned to produce a series of works for Prada.
