2010 - 2013

A collaboration between artist SHOBOSHOBO + ATOPOS cvc

In 2010, ATOPOS cvc launched its new space in the Metaxourgeio district of Athens, a fully renovated typical Athenian residence of 1912, and invited visitors to discover it through the interventions and installations created by the French artist Mehdi Hercberg aka Shoboshobo. A prolific artist, illustrator and musician, Shoboshobo expresses himself through performance, music, drawing, installation, zines and fashion.

Shoboshobo presented a series of six site-specific ‘sleepy giant’ installations and a series of drawings that occupied most of the Atopos building. Since then, these funny, sleepy, monstrous, disfigured, enormous, naïve and sexy giants have always been on the move! So far, the ZZZzzzZZZZ giants have travelled to the following museums and art spaces: Citrus Museum (Chios island, Greece), La Gaîté lyrique and Galerie Jean-Marc Thevenet (Paris, France), Kunstencentrum Belgie (Hasselt, Belgium), CF Company (Athens, Greece) and Museum aan de Stroom-MAS (Antwerp, Belgium).

Tired from the extensive travel the giants are now back in Greece and are currently residing in the Citrus Museum (Chios island), in the Childhood Museum ‘Stathmos’ (Nafplion), in the Fougaro Cultural Center (Nafplion), in the “Ark of the World” (Athens) and in the elementary school of Volos for children with Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDDs).
