The American fashion designer and musician Michael Cepress with training in art and interest in menswear, confronts a garment’s architecture and structure with unlikely ornamentation and pattern. In 2006, he received a ‘Yellow Pages” dress and was asked to draw inspiration from historical paper collars.

“The collars I created show my expression of ideas about new definitions of masculinity, reflections on histories of both the 1960s and Edwardian period in American fashion, and to use these pieces as a way of defining and decorating free-thinking men of the day, whom I lovingly call The Modern Gentleman.”
