Carla Maldonado is a multimedia artist and independent filmmaker, working with film, site specific installation and the multimedia experience of their intersection. Maldonado is a 2023 artist resident at The Locker Room Gallery in Brooklyn, a 2021 recipient of the City Artist Corps Grant, a 2020 AIM fellow artist at The Bronx Museum of the Arts and a 2019 recipient of Best of SVA Hollywood Award. In 2023 they collaborated with Lily Lady on a short film for a multichannel installation at the Rockaway Beach, Queens, NY, during Rockaway Art Week. They recently showed work at the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology in Lisbon, Portugal (2022) ; Revelation Gallery, New York; XYZ Gallery, Brooklyn (2021); Thomas Erben Gallery, New York (2020); Satellite Art Show during Art Basel in Miami and Brooklyn; Barcelona Planet Film Festival, Spain; Fathom Gallery LA, CA; and Nowolipki State Center of Arts, Warsaw, PL.(2019). They have an MFA in Photography, Video & Related Media, SVA in New York, 2019. Maldonado lives and works in New York City.
