Filmed to accompany the international costume exhibition ‘Ptychoseis = Pleats + Folds. Drapery from Ancient Greek Dress to 21st century Fashion’, organised by the Peloponnesian Folklore Foundation and the Cultural Olympiad to celebrate the holding of the Athens Olympic Games in summer 2004. ‘Infusion’ directed by Marcus Tomlinson, features a man wearing the traditional Greek, white, pleated, male skirt – the fustanella. The fustanella has now become a symbol of modern Greece, an element in the identity of the country, seen today as worn by the Presidential Guard that stands at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in front of the Greek Parliament building in Athens.
