The French fashion designer Amandine Labidoire (b. 1982) received paper-like fabrics and transformed them into a sculptural playful androgynous uniform. She hand-painted the white part of the garment, extending the paisley motif of the colourful fabric given to her, mostly in black and white with a few stars in vivid colours. Labidoire experimented with volume, identity and creativity, adding uniqueness into the mass-produced material given to her as well as integrating the element of paper used as ‘fancy dress’ material in her creations.
